Scooter driver dies early Thursday morning in head on collision

SINT MAARTEN (COLE BAY) – An investigation is currently underway by the Traffic Department regarding an accident on Cole Bay Hill at approximately 1:30 AM on Thursday morning May 2nd which took place on the Brouwers Road, close to the round-a-bout in the vicinity of Indigo Bay where a scooter rider lost his life.
The Police estimates age his around 20. The scooter driver lost control while heading in the direction of Cole Bay when he slammed into an oncoming vehicle.
The Police were unable to identify the scooter driver and have information that the person is from the French side of the island.
Other scooter drivers attempted to remove the scooter from the scene of the accident.
This is an ongoing investigation.
