Engage Caribbean Gems Trash Run Winning Team Pain Cave Tribe Presents Prize to Charities

SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - Engage Caribbean Gems Trash Run winning team, Pain Cave Tribe recently presented Safe Haven with a $500.00 donation. The winning prize of $1000.00 was shared among two charities.

Safe Haven provides free shelter, counseling and supportive services to women and their children who have fallen victim to domestic violence.

The team’s second choice Animal Defenders also received $500.00. Animal Defenders are dedicated to raising awareness and funds to care for and minimize the suffering of stray and abandoned animals.

The generous contributions were made possible by Engage Foundation’s partner Caribbean Gems.

The Trash Run took place on Sept 23rd, with six teams collecting a total of 3,144 lbs. of trash. They covered the route from Raoul Illidge Sports Complex and made their way to their zones in the districts of Cole Bay, Simpson Bay and Cay Bay collecting trash.

The Second Annual Engage Caribbean Gems Trash Run will take place in September 2019 and cover other districts on the island.
