SMMC to provide free breast cancer screenings on October 25
SINT MAARTEN (CAY HILL) - On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) will host its annual breast cancer screenings in collaboration with the Positive Foundation and the Elektralytes Foundation. From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, attendees have the opportunity to receive free clinical breast exams carried out by SMMC’s Medical Specialists and local General Practitioners. In addition to breast cancer screenings for women, SMMC will also offer free blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring and the St. Maarten AIDS Foundation will provide free, confidential HIV testing. Detectives and Police Investigate Tuesday afternoon Armed Robbery
SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) – Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) officers and detectives are currently investigating an armed robbery that took place just before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, at a jewelry store located in a marina in the Point Blanche area. After committing the robbery, the suspects fled the scene in a small green vehicle in the direction of Sucker Garden. Police patrols and detectives are presently conducting a search in the area for the suspects. Additional information will be provided as the investigation progresses. SINT MAARTEN/ARUBA - To foster dialogue on disinformation and restore trust in the press, Red Arubiano di Prensa Profesional (RAPP) organized its second seminar, ‘Rebuilding Trust in Caribbean Media’, focusing on public engagement, fact-checking, and mitigating digital threats. The Caribbean Journalism Seminar, held on Thursday, September 26, at Impact Hub Aruba, reflected today’s Caribbean reality, where disinformation spreads rapidly and undermines public confidence in the news.
