Minister Bourne-Gumbs leads Strategic Planning for Educational System

BELAIR - Honorable Minister Rita Bourne-Gumbs spent the entire day on Thursday September 10th hearing from school management and parents about the specific strategic objectives they would like to see the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports attain over the next 10 years.
Management teams from all schools and levels of education were invited to an afternoon session. They worked together in mixed groups to come up with realistic and practical suggestions to develop a clear picture of the learning environment for the young students of the future with respect to the country’s educational system.
In the evening, parents of current students were selected and invited by their respective school boards to work on objectives from their own perspective.
This strategic session was an initiative of Minister Bourne-Gumbs who selected a committee within the ministry to organize the event and collect the data and to present their findings.
