25 Families Receive Christmas Meal Courtesy of St. Maarten Lion’s Club

PHILIPSBURG - So it was fitting that on the 25th of December 2014 members of St. Maarten Lion’s Club together with some of their family were out in full force serving Christmas lunch to individuals in our community.
This is another project that is dear to the hearts of our Lion members and for the second year our members actively volunteered time from away from their families for such a great project
25 families were treated to a meal consisting of the usual Christmas Dinner spread a soft drink, desert, and for the children tickets to Caribbean Cinema’s for them to enjoy a movie of their choice.
“It was very touching to see the smiles on the faces of the young and old and the hugs the members received after giving the gifts,” said St. Maarten Lion’s Club President Lion Sunil (Sunny) Khatnani.
This project and others like it are funded by the monies raised through donations and fundraising activities which are held throughout the year.
The St. Maarten Lion’s Club would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one in our lovely St. Maarten Community that contributed through donation or buying tickets to our fundraising events in 2014. Because of you we can continue to do so much for our country.
